Jaden sat down on the front steps that lead up to the school. It was a good place to go when you just needed to think, or get away. And since there was some time before band practice, he was able to sit there. He actually didn't have his iPod with him today, since he had to leave it on the charger. It was hard to listen to something that was dead. He sighed at the rememberance of his iPod being dead, and moved to sit on his trumpet case, which was a thing he did.

He made sure that his sweat bands were covering the fresh wounds he had done. Of course there were bandages on them, but he made sure no one saw those bandages. Nobody in the band knew about his secret, and he was planning on keeping it that way. He had taken his lip piercings out, because he couldn't play the trumpet with them in. It was quite hard. So, he felt weird without them, and his face showed that. He put his hands on his chins, resting his elbows on his knees, and breathed out the breath that he didn't realize he had been holding in.

He looked over at the girl, whom he knew from his section. He smiled slightly at her, looking at his wrist bands to make sure that they were covering up the bandages well. "Yeah. My iPod died, so I'm iPod-less," he said to the petite girl laughing a bit. He wasn't exactly sure of what they were going to do today in practice, since it was the first of the season, but he didn't care. As long as they didn't have some lame songs, he was okay.

Jaden looked back at Ashley. "Why are you here early?" he asked. It wasn't like him to be early either, but he wanted to get out of his house. His dad was on another perfection rampage, and that was why Jaden had the bandages on his wrists in the first place. It was hard not to do that anymore. He was so addicted to it, since it made him so much happier, that he could never stop.
